Yoast SEO is one of the biggest WordPress plugins in the world and it has recently received updates <\/a>for all of its available versions. Here’s everything that you need to know:<\/h3>\n

What’s New, What’s Hot<\/h2>\n

Yoast SEO’s premium version has always been able to connect with Google Search Console; this feature has been useful for SEO practitioners as well as content creators for a long time now. A new feature for Yoast’s compatibility with the search console is the ability to display crawl errors for Yoast SEO. What this means for users and blog managers is that they now have the ability to address and fix their crawl errors with more ease and finesse than before.<\/p>\n

Another noteworthy addition is the ability to append redirects. Back then, 404 pages could only be redirected using a 301 but now, Yoast can now use 451, 410, 307 and 302 redirects.<\/p>\n

Another noteworthy addition is the upgrade done to the Yoast SEO Premium’s Internal Linking Tool. A positive change is the tool’s ability to recommend to add links that would “make sense” to the content that the user is currently working on.<\/p>\n

Of course, a feature to support this upgrade was added to Yoast SEO. The Internal Linking Tool will now determine if a link has already been linked to your current content and the tool will no longer suggest said link if it has already been added.<\/p>\n

While these changes make sense for Yoast SEO Premium Edition, a medley of changes was also made for Yoast SEO 4.4, which is essentially the free version. Most of the changes were made to cater to mobile users, which is quickly becoming the norm with what, Google focusing on improving the user experience for mobile users everywhere.<\/a><\/p>\n

A “minor” update for the option to disable keyword and content analysis has moved said feature to the “features tab” from the “General tab”<\/p>\n

The updates for both the free and premium versions of Yoast SEO 4.4 are now available so kindly update your WordPress sites as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

Here’s what I think about Yoast’s new updates. Most of them are simple UX (user experiences) focused and I think that’s great especially so for content creators. Yoast is making their platform better and easier to access which is one of the more vocal complaints from newer content creators. It is a fact that content is one of the biggest factors in ranking for Google’s factors and with Yoast making things easier, things can only get better for everyone.<\/p>\n

As a moderate Yoast user myself, I can confidently say that these changes, while somewhat minor, can definitely make an impact for my SEO practice and if that’s a good thing for me, then that’s definitely a good thing for you content creators out there.<\/p>\n
