When you’ve just published a new article or product and you want it to spread around the internet like wildfire to bring in some traffic, it gets a little bit frustrating seeing how little retweets you’re getting with your TweetMeMe button.<\/p>\n

Instead of making your retweet button say something about the greatness of your site and content, it spells out ‘crap content’ when you get a big fat zero for your number of retweets. And it can just hurt the writer and marketer in you. It’s frustrating, I know. I’ve been there.<\/p>\n


\nAnd my writing and marketing ego was going down the drain when I was fortunate enough to stumble upon a web-based social media tool<\/a>. It was free – so just for the heck of it, I tried it out.<\/p>\n

Too free to be true?<\/strong><\/p>\n

First of all, I’m not the type of guy to buy stuff online. I live in the Philippines and my family is a middle class family so we barely buy unnecessary stuff. With a lot of crappy scams here and there, my skepticism over too-good-to-be-true stuff in the internet has just kept on increasing and increasing.<\/p>\n

When I encountered SocialOomph<\/a> (they were named tweetlater back then) they had a free to try program – which I joyfully partook of. First few tries were alright for me. Didn’t really spend too much time studying it up since I was just a start-out blogger then. But even so, their tweet later features still got me some hits as my twitter and Facebook status updates even while I’m asleep!<\/p>\n

After a while, they kept on improving their system. They focused more on status updates and bringing out the latest news from their users. When they launched a free trial of their professional account<\/strong> (I was using the free account<\/strong> then – there’s a difference) I just had to try it out for myself.<\/p>\n

I have a dream<\/strong><\/p>\n

I used to dream about a tool that will help my twitter retweet all my articles over and over again to my followers and the people searching in twitter. I never thought it could exist because if it did – it would most probably be regarded as a spamming tool. And we all hate spam don’t we?<\/p>\n

First, the tool does exist. Secondly, it works much better than I thought. Thirdly, None of my tweets was ever regarded as spam. All of them got tweeted and retweeted and re-retweeted and so on and so forth.<\/p>\n

I saw my retweet rate shoot up from lame to fame. Yes it doesn’t happen overnight – it takes time. Retweets happen when people think your stuff is great and is worth retweeting. So no matter how great this tool is in helping you get retweets and making your stuff viral – if your stuff itself ain’t something worth people’s attention, it won’t happen.<\/p>\n

And it definitely was.<\/p>\n

And it still is.<\/p>\n

And I think it always will be.<\/p>\n

I don’t need to keep on ranting about it’s products and features here. It’ll make this article too long for you guys to give time to. My advice is, try it out for yourself<\/a> – just as I did. You have nothing to lose.<\/p>\n
